Course Description: In this Fine Arts course, students are accelerated in rigorous sessions of dance techniques that use their maximum movement range. Students will have opportunities to master and set student choreography. Production and performance are the major components and foci of this elite performance ensemble. Performance components beyond the regular school day are required. The Dance Company and Junior Company classes are performance based and focus on advanced technique, choreography, critique, production and performance. Students will learn and choreography a variety of pieces throughout the school year, perform at several venues and create and maintain a portfolio. Company members will have the opportunity to work with guest choreographer, tour and perform in and out of state.

The students will demonstrate precision in their final performance in the Spring Dance Concert.
The students will demonstrate use of technology and digital media during their choreography projects.
The students will demonstrate the ability to create dance utilizing creative movement and elements of composition and production.
The students will demonstrate the ability to use perceptual skills through performing and responding in dance.
The students will demonstrate the ability to analyze, evaluate, and apply aesthetic criticism.
Students are expected to arrive to class on time, dress in the appropriate dance attire and participate during the entire class.
Students are expected to respect classmates, choreographers, teachers and visitors.
Students are expected to demonstrate appropriate behavior in class, at rehearsals and during performances.
